Hi! Hallo! Ciao! Thanks for visiting my website! My name is Scott Hudson, and I am from Sparks, Maryland, a small, rural, not-quite-a-town about half an hour north of Baltimore. I am currently a senior at Carleton College, where I study history. My main research interest lies in modern European nation-building, particularly the role that historical memory plays in the creation of national identity. That being said, I also enjoy studying film history, censorship history, and the history of antimodernist thought, all of which are far more connected to nationalism than you may think!
This website is the capstone project for my European Studies minor and Hyme Loss Award for Global Engagement. It chronicles the work I have done to connect my research interests to the world around me through coursework, campus events, and travels abroad. I hope it gives you a deeper understanding of my interests and the deep impact that global engagement has had on my life and work.
You can go in temporal order, or follow your whim to a project that interests you!
